El Dorado Hills
I grew up running year-round on the many trails of El Dorado Hills, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in northern California near the state capitol of Sacramento.
Sacramento
Country Day School
I've attended Sacramento Country Day School since Pre-K, and I now compete for my high school in Division 5 (schools with high school enrollment of 600 or fewer students) in the Sac-Joaquin Section (with approximately 200 schools, the second largest of ten CIF sections in California).
Academics
I take the most challenging courses I can (for example, I took AP Calculus as a sophomore and I'm now taking 4 AP classes as a junior), and I'm proud to have earned high honor roll every semester in high school. I took the PSAT as a sophomore and was happy to score in the 99th percentile.
Sports
In addition to running cross country and track, I compete on Sacramento Country Day's varsity soccer, basketball, ski, and tennis teams. During my freshman year, I was selected to be the captain of our varsity cross country team, my soccer team won the section championship, and I qualified to race slalom and giant slalom in the state championship ski meet.
Training
I began running with the Buffalo Chips local youth running club when I was 9 years old and enjoyed competing in USATF and AAU Junior Olympics national competitions. Today I strength train each week with a focus on injury prevention, and I do altitude training each summer with my school team in either Lake Tahoe (6,225') or Mammoth Lakes (7,880').
Interests
Outside of school academics and sports, I enjoy mountain biking, golfing, scuba diving, playing guitar and saxophone, and writing for my school's student newspaper. I love to travel, explore new destinations, and experience new cultures.
